We do not current mail our honey but if you live locally we sell from the house or will deliver free of charge if you live in Isleham. Honey costs £5.00 for a 340g jar of which £1.00 goes via a Christian Charity in which we are involved, to support families in setting up to keep bees in Malawi as this is a simple way of them providing financial support for their family.
The rest of the cost goes towards the cost of sugar for the bees to overwinter on, jars and labels, medicinal treatments for each hive against Varroa Destructor mites, and replacement frames, foundation etc. as needed
Every batch of honey is different as it depends upon the plants foraged at the time of production.
All our honey is checked for water content before bottling to ensure it is under 18% and is filtered only down to 200microns (in 3 stages) to retain some of the pollen so may be cloudy in appearance.
All honey will eventually crystallise. Because ours is not subjected to the extremes of heat and very fine filtration that commercially produced honey undergoes (for speed of processing and appearance, but to the detriment of flavour) ours will crystallise faster. If that happens before it is all consumed, it can easily be returned to the liquid state as detailed on each jar.
